High-end homes, in particular, require a very meticulous preparation process to protect their expensive features, ensure a high-quality finish, and provide a long-lasting paint application.Standard painting projects typically use minor patching and sanding to prepare the surface before painting, while high-end projects frequently utilize full skim coating and thorough sanding to cover tiny imperfections. Instead of just covering floors and large furniture pieces before applying paint, high-end painting prep involves carefully protecting the home’s floors, millwork, furnishings, art, and built-ins with plastic sheeting, masking paper, and painter’s tape. What Happens Before Painting Begins? Before painting begins at a high-end home, the team at Sundeleaf Painting performs a comprehensive preparation process. It includes:Home walkthrough: This helps the team understand the layout and overall vibe of the home.Thorough inspection: The team will examine the home’s interior, including the walls, ceilings, trim, cabinets, and woodwork, to identify any scratches, scrapes, chipped/peeling paint, and intricate details that will require attention.Color confirmation and finish selection: The team will confirm the color and finish of the paint, ensuring it will complement the rest of the home and is suitable for the room’s traffic level, lighting, and moisture.Access planning: This involves determining how painters will safely and efficiently reach hard-to-reach work areas before any surface preparation or painting begins.Cleaning: Our team will carefully clean the substrate by scraping off old paint and hand-washing the surface.Sanding, caulking, and priming: The team will also meticulously prepare the surface before painting by sanding, priming, and caulking areas to ensure the paint will adhere properly and leave a smooth finish. We may use skim coating when necessary.Masking: This involves carefully protecting the surfaces throughout the home that aren’t being painted, including trim, built-ins, woodwork, and more. This thorough process, part of our 90% prep, 10% paint philosophy, ensures that the client’s high-end home will be properly protected, prepared, and painted, leaving a finished look they’ll love.Choose Sundeleaf Painting for High-End Interior Painting Near You in Portland, ORWhen you need high-end house painting near you in Portland, OR, trust the team at Sundeleaf Painting.
