Whether you're looking to have work done on your living or work space in the Portland area, an important deciding factor should be if the paint contractor can do pre-finishing work in a dedicated spray booth offsite. It can keep the job site cleaner and clutter free.
Sundeleaf Painting has a full-size spray booth to exhaust overspray and filter out particulates. Our shop has racks that can accommodate windows, doors, shelves, cabinets and furniture. We can apply various finish styles, including: brush, air-assisted spray and airless spray for heavier coatings if necessary. We apply waterborne coatings (green coatings), lacquer, catalyzed lacquer, conversion varnish, tradition oil or alkyd coatings, glaze and clear finishes.
The work we're particularly good at is natural wood finishing. A craftsman should have extensive experience in stain matching, otherwise the job will be done poorly and need refinishing... again. Sundeleaf also has experience with deep colors, toning or color-clear coats, natural oil and hand rub oil, varnish and traditional varnish coatings, polyurethane, and hand-brushed tinted or color-clear coats.
Home and commercial business owners might also find the need to have garage doors refinished with stain or paint. Again, it takes shops space to do this. Sundeleaf has garage door companies send their doors to us for pre-application of primers and coatings to all edges and sides to assist in creating a long-lasting, professionally-applied finish.
Other pre-finishing work includes handling sheets of plywood, moldings, trim boards and decorative pieces for pre-priming prior to on-site installation. We can also pre-finish these pieces as requested. Also, on occasion I've had customers request dipping the siding or trim boards for thorough penetration, with a back brush and drying prior to installation. This could be an exterior semi-transparent oil based coating a water sealer or linseed oil based finish system.
