Before we pop the top on this subject, we should say that there is nothing wrong with white trim. It’s a classic option, and often is absolutely perfect.
What we would like you to know, however, and especially as you prep your home for the holidays, is that there is potential for even more. Colors other than white are definitely worth considering.
Why Paint Your Trim Something Other Than White?
Well, one reason is simply for the sake of variety. Why not mix things up a bit?
Another great reason is the fact that a more colorful trim can add beautiful definition and style. Similar to ceilings, these are often forgotten spaces, and simply wash away into the corners and edges of a room.
What Are Your Trim and Baseboard Color Options?
Hey, it’s your house! You can do what you like.
With that said, here are a couple ideas to keep in mind.
- Monochromatic – This means that you paint your trim and baseboards a variation of your wall color (typically a bit darker version). This adds nice definition and flow, but doesn’t stand out too starkly.
- Go Bolder – As you can see in the picture above, even black can be used to sharpen the edges of your space. The potential is nearly endless.
